On 8-20 May, 2016, RMUTP executives and students, led by Assoc. Prof. Supatra Kosaiyakanont, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, participated the 8th Annual Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Celebration or the Asian Festival with the main theme called “One World, Many Clutures.” The festival was held on the night of May 14, 2016 at Vajiradhammapadip Buddhist Temple situated in Centereach, New York, United States of America.
The purposes of the visit of Rajamangala delegates are; to perform Thai dance and culture in the Asian festival; to seek the opportunities for future collaboration in academic and cultural exchange between RMUTP and Vajira Buddhist Temple on the mutual interest; and to sign an academic memorandum of understanding with Vajira Temple.
With the reputation in Thai traditional dance and music performances, RMUTP students were invited to perform traditional dance in New York, United States of America during the award ceremony. The performed dances consisted of 4 regional dances: central, northern, north-eastern, and southern dances. After the show, RMUTP students were praised by all the attendee and other art performer across the world.
The Asian Festival is held annually by the Suffolk County Asian American Advisory Board, also known as SCAAAB with the purpose of honoring the Asians American who have made significant contribution to the community. For this year event, it was participated by the ambassadors and embassy officials from 11 Asian countries.
